Phialemonium globosum LMS 16-13 Minimal Draft

Fungi belonging to the Phialemonium genus can be isolated from various environments, such as soil or sewage, and they can be involved in human infections (2). This is the case of Phialemonium globosum, generally found as a pathogen in human sinus (2). The genus Phialemonium and its family Cephalothecaceae were believed to belong to the order Sordariales; however molecular analyses of a few markers showed that they belong to their own order, the Cephalothecales (1). Strain LMS 16-13 was isolated from sediments at 300m depth in Lake Michigan, USA.
