Talaromyces proteolyticus PMI_201 (1113381)

Talaromyces proteolyticus is an ascomycete fungus in the order Eurotiales; its asexual stage is also known as Penicillium proteolyticum1. Isolate PMI_201 was isolated from roots of Pinus taeda2. Talaromyces species have been isolated from leaf litter in the Amazonian forest3 and often occur as plant endophytes. Species in the genus Talaromyces are characterized by their enzymatic activities and by the production of extrolites (secondary metabolites) that provide novel resources for the treatment of different diseases4.
