Podospora aff. communis PSN243 Minimal Draft

The ITS sequence of Podospora communis PSN243 is close to, yet different from, the ones published for the other strains of Podospora communis. It belongs to the family Schizotheciaceae. P. communis is a common and widespread coprophilous species (1,2). PSN243 grows slowly and fruits sparingly on artificial media. The sequenced strain of Podospora aff. communis PSN243 was isolated from horse dung collected near Picos de Europa in Spain.
