The genome sequence and gene prediction of Rasamsonia emersonii NRRL 3221 have not been determined by the Joint Genome Institute (JGI), but were downloaded from CSFG on July 31, 2022. In order to allow comparative analyses with other fungal genomes sequenced by the JGI, a copy of this genome is incorporated into Mycocosm. Please note that this copy of the genome is not automatically updated. JGI tools were used to automatically annotate predicted proteins.
Rasamsoni emersonii, basionym Talaromyces emersonii is a thermophilic from the Trichocomaceae family, with growth optimum at 55 ºC. Rasamsonia emersonii strains have been isolated from compost, soil, and outdoor air (1,2). Several studies have characterized secreted thermostable enzymes involved in the degradation of lignocellulolytic material (3-5). The genome of R. emersonii will provide valuable information on secreted thermostable enzymes and allow comparison with other thermophilic fungi.
