Assembly v1.0 (30 August 2006): The draft release of whole genome shotgun reads was constructed with the JGI assembler, Jazz, using paired end sequencing reads at a coverage of ~8.06X. After trimming for vector and quality, 940,892 reads assembled into 1,415 main genome scaffolds totaling 105.6 MB. Roughly half of the genome is contained in 6 scaffolds all at least 6.0 MB in length.
Annotation v1.0 (22 July 2007): The draft release of automated annotations was constructed with the JGI annotation pipeline, using Assembly v1.0 and 14,572 ESTs. 11,520 genes were predicted and then functionally characterized. The average gene is 34,980 nt, with 8.4 exons, and encoding a protein of 454 aa.
