Searching in KEGG

You can search for enzymes in KEGG by Enzyme Commission (EC) number or by keyword. The results allow you to view information about predicted genes related to a given enzyme.

To search by EC number:

  1. Select "EC Number" from the Search Options menu.
  2. Type the number (e.g., 1.3.3.4) in the EC field.
  3. Click Submit.

To search by keyword:

  1. Select "Keyword" from the Search Options menu.
  2. Type the query word (e.g., protoporphyrin) in the unlabeled field to the right of the Search Options menu.
  3. Click Submit.

Quick Tips

  • The species selector is automatically set to the organism whose site you are viewing.
  • The KEGG search results depend on the type of search.
