Aspergillus glaucus

Aspergillus glaucus is one of the few Aspergillus species found in the arctic regions. Sequencing and analyzing A. glaucus will significantly strengthen the phylogenetic coverage of the genus Aspergillus and might provide a source for enzymes that act at low temperatures. This species has been studied for various reasons, such as pigment formation, infection of humans and recently for polysaccharide degrading enzymes.
