Suillus granulatus is an ectomycorrhizal mushroom-forming fungus in the family Boletaceae. Fruiting bodies of S. granulatus have a pale cinnamon glutinous pileus (cap), whitish to yellowish pores, and smooth whitish stipe covered with pale cinnamon glandules. This species is widely distributed under white pine (P. strobus) across eastern North America, but has also been reported on 2-3 needle pine hosts. This species was first reported from Europe, and molecular systematics studies suggest that the North American S. granulatus populations likely represent a different species.

This genome is part of JGI/EMSL Collaborative Science Project (proposal 48480) "Integrated genomic/transcriptomic/secretomic study of plant-fungal interactions between pines and their symbiotic ectomycorrhizal fungi in the mushroom genus Suillus".
