Thelebolus microsporus is a psychrophilic fungus saprobic on dung or excretions, with minute, brownish discomycete with either one large or several smaller asci cracking open at maturity. T. microsporus is placed within the Leotiomycetes (Pezizomycotina). This genome was sequenced as part of the 1000 Fungal Genomes Project.
