Zygoascus hellenicus Y-7136 was sequenced as part of the
Zygoascus hellenicus was proposed as the teleomorph of Saccharomycotina yeast species Candida hellenica, C. inositophila, and C. steatolytica (1). Z. hellenicus is associated with spoiled grapes (2) and may be a human pathogen in some rare cases (3). Because of taxonomic ambiguity, efforts have been made to clarify the taxonomy of Z. hellenicus (4).
